Was one of my niece's birthdays---so the family in and around Colorado got together to celebrate--so I was able to see my brothers (two of them) and their wives and kids plus my parents. It was fun!
I only took a few pics---these are actually of my brother Patrick's baby daughter, Gracie. As you can see, she has a fondness for the dog--she was chasing him around with her mouth open. It was pretty funny. I was able to get some good shots.
Poor Koda (the dog) he looks a little uncertain of the little person in front of him.
Tee hee.

Next!
Alright, so the first guy on met on E-Harmony obviously has no "follow-through"....seeing as he was very enamaoured of me on our date---even talking about all the things we would do together in the future, and then never called. I *did* email him casually last Thursday and he responded back in 5 minutes...we chatted that way for awhile and it was left at staying in touch to plan another date, but PLEASE. I am not interested in chasing a man around....so moving on.
I am supposed to chat with another guy tonight. He seems really great (then again so did guy #1) but he's a bit older (which hopefully means more mature).
So...we will see how it goes. Against better judgment I'm positing a couple of his pics as well. He's very cute.
He's the one on the Right

Let the Games Begin...
So the date on Saturday went surprisingly well. Even though I was paranoid he would think my thighs were too big (my new obsession)he didn't seem to notice and actually seemed VERY pleased with my appearance. So, Yay! We had lunch and then checked out a bookstore and had some coffee (I had chai)---it was nice. He's definitely a lot more introverted than me...then again, that wouldn't be hard to do. So there were some awkward pauses that I felt forced to fill. He didn't seem to notice, though. We also walked around the 16th Street Mall. In all honesty, I do this all the time since I work around there, but it was nice to do it with someone else other than a co-worker.
Oh, I should mention, he is very cute...which is great, albeit slightly shorter than he said he was--closer to 5'9, but whatever. It's pretty common for men to lie about their height, just like women lie about their weight. :-)
So, eventually he offered me his arm as we strolled down the mall, which was very nice. He had me walk him to his car (a very nice Mini) and we hugged. I'm still unsure of whether or not he meant to kiss me on the cheek or lips, but I turned so he was forced to kiss me on the cheek (I'm taking it slow)! He immediately asked me out on another date and we decided we would figure out the logistics later on.
So, now, the waiting...or as my friend, Ana, said: "Let the games begin!"
Now I am just left wondering: Do I call him? Text him? He hasn't called me yet and I'm not sure if he's the kind of guy who sticks to the rules and waits three or four days before calling or is the kind of guy who wants to make sure I'm interested so he waits for me to call....hmmmm. I think I will just wait. If he is really interested he would call, right? This sucks.

E-Harmony--update
Okay, so, as was to be expected there are lot of guys I'm being "matched" with that I am NOT interested in...but a handful that I have been...which is promising, right?
One, in particular sounds great so far (and we're supposed to chat on the phone later this week and maybe meet for lunch or something).
Anyway, he's 31, lives in Boulder (originally from Oregon), works as a psychotherapist (and don't go there...I know what you're thinking....), is a practicing Buddhist, etc. He has a great sense of humor (as far as I can tell from our emails) and is darn cute....so...we'll see how it goes.
Okay, I can't believe I'm doing this, but I had to show a picture of him, god help me if he ever finds my blog...

E-Harmony-??
Like most single people, I have tried on-line dating off and on throughout the years with mixed results. Mostly bad results. The last time I tried it was using Chemistry.com and nothing really came from it. So, I didn't really think I would do it again--I would always get hopeful and then find out that the on-line dating pool had much to be desired. However, I keep hearing about so many people who find their mate on-line---in fact, my friend from work met his wife using match.com years ago. So when I saw the advertisement about E-Harmony offering a free communication weekend I figured, hey, why not.
So, I signed up AGAIN with their service---just for the free portion of course. I didn't want to shell out any money without seeing who was out there. The last time I signed up with E-Harmony I was literally only matched up with truck-drivers and electricians with a few business owners sprinkled in. Seriously. It was hilarious. Obviously, I did not pursue that dating venue for very long.
I was and am hopeful this time. Anyway, I signed up and shockingly, the guys I've been matched up with this time have pretty impressive profiles. Sadly, I can't see any pictures unless I pay for a membership---and you know what, I think I might do it. Hopefully the guys are attractive---I will keep my expectations realistic, but hey, there has to be a couple hot dudes on there.
Let me be clear here, though. I'm doing this as an experiment of sorts. I still feel wary of dating while I'm in school and working, but I'm getting to the point that I think I could be open to someone in my life. Might as well do the on-line thing to test the waters first. Besides, I don't drink and therefore don't go around to bars and clubs trying to meet a guy. This just seems logical.
Stay tuned for what happens next...
